When I had several properties in rural areas near Durango Colorado, the county use to use a 5000 gallon tanker with directional sprayer and canon sprayer loaded with oily mixter for rural road dust retardant.
No one would think twice of a tanker creeping through residential area in the late night hours or early morning hours. As I look at some of the video caps, the fire seems to have followed a path of odorless flamable mist trail. Spitballing.
