>>how do we explain the craziness of the burning?
Other anons have in earlier breads explained about the flora in California naturally producing flammable sap to promote burning so the seeds can germinate and produce a next generation of flora. It's how Californian plants seem to want to live. Also, anons have mentioned about trees burning from within, and implied it may be because of DEWs or some other unusual cause. In fact, at least for redwoods, they often burn from the inside out because of their sap. Take a walk through a redwood forest and you'll see several trees which are hollowed out from past fires. Nothing unusual about it, but yes it's something to beware of in the area of a recent fire.

>>Yikes, tough and dangerous job.
Yes it is, and I am thankful for the unsung heroes who work in the worst weather conditions too restore our electrical power. Nobody ever mentions these guys, or tells them "thank you for your service," yet they're out working in blizzards and hurricanes, restoring power so we don't freeze or die of heat stroke.
