I think the fact that people - even conspiracy theorists - often just talk about Illuminati or Freemasonry says a lot on just how secret they are. Because there's a lot more societies than this. It's all about domains and spheres of interests. Kind of like gangs that own city blocks. Or "old boys clubs" that blockade employment in areas. Not all of them are Satanic either… but still secret. So sort of bad just for that.
