“The steady flow of federal agency actions to assert federal control over private water rights directly interferes with the ability of the American people to access their private property. These federal water grabs undermine the long-held state water law that protects the many uses vital to the Western U.S., create uncertainty, and jeopardize the livelihoods of communities, individuals, and businesses responsible for thousands of jobs. Senator Barrasso and I share a deep commitment with our colleagues to the defense of private water rights, and are dedicated to this cause of stopping nefarious federal overreach and restoring needed certainty to all water users by ensuring that all non-federal water rights are upheld.”—Congressman Scott Tipton

North Korean Ship in Third Suspicious Transfer of Goods

North Korean-flagged tanker Rye Song Gang 1 was spotted by Japanese maritime patrol plane in yet another suspected illegal transfer of goods, a third one over the past few months.

The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday that the North Korean ship was seen anchored alongside Belize-flagged Wang Heng No. 11 on February 13, some 250 kilometers east of Shanghai, East China Sea.

The nighttime operation between the two ships is suspected of involving a transfer of goods at sea in violation of international sanctions.

Rye Song Gang 1 was blacklisted by the Trump Administration in November 2017 together with 19 other North Korean-flagged ships for engaging in illegal ship-to-ship transfers in an effort to evade sanctions.

However, just last month the tanker was caught in a dubious ship-to-ship transfer with the Dominican-flagged tanker Yuk Tung

Five people were arrested after authorities say they executed a massive drug bust in Ocean County that led to the seizure of cocaine, fentanyl and hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash.

The arrests followed a two-month investigation, led by the Drug Enforcement Administration's Monmouth-Ocean High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas program, in which authorities raided three locations in Toms River, South Toms River and Berkeley Township, according to a statement released Wednesday from the Toms River Police Department.
