Spain’s pro-open borders socialist prime minister, Pedro Sánchez, has called on the British government to call for another Brexit referendum so their country can “come back to the EU”.

The Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) leader made his remarks in an interview with POLITICO, saying: “If I was Theresa May, I would call a second referendum — no doubt.”

The Spanish prime minister was a little vague in terms of the timeframe for a second Brexit referendum — currently being pushed by a number of EU loyalist MPs and pressure groups — some directly funded by the EU — telling the insider outlet: “I’d like to see the British government calling a second referendum.

Pope Francis: Chief Threats to World Are ‘Climate Change’ and Nuclear War

Pope Francis highlighted on Monday what he considers two main threats to humanity, namely the “immense crisis” of global warming and the possibility of nuclear war.

In his address to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, the pope urged his listeners to do all they can to assist humanity in facing the most pressing threats facing the planet, noting that in the first place these are “the immense and ongoing crisis of climate change and the nuclear menace.”

He also identified the destruction of “biological diversity” and the degradation of the integrity of the earth “by causing changes in its climate” as “sins.”

Jerry Brown Blames Climate Change for California Wildfires

California Gov. Jerry Brown blamed climate change Sunday for the California wildfires, despite a complete lack of evidence — a day after President Donald Trump was widely criticized for blaming poor forest management.

According to the Associated Press, Brown, described as an “evangelist” for climate change, also blamed climate change deniers for the deadly fires, saying they were responsible for the deaths of California residents.

“Managing all the forests in everywhere we can does not stop climate change,” he said. “And those who deny that are definitely contributing to the tragedies that we’re now witnessing, and will continue to witness in the coming years.”

Vatican Official: Migrants Can Teach Western Women How to ‘Be Feminine Mothers’

Migrant mothers can teach Western women “to be both a feminine woman and to be mothers,” because of their unique experience of motherhood, a Vatican official said this weekend.

Gabriella Gambino, one of the highest-ranking women in the Vatican Curia, said that mothers in Western countries often have difficulty being both “woman and mother,” while migrant mothers more easily integrate these different dimensions.

Migrant women “are a bit of a prototype of a motherhood completely different, a motherhood lived in its essence, in the feminine dimension,” Gambino said at a November 9 book presentation in Rome.

The book, titled Antikka: Stories of arrival and departure, motherhood wanted or unaware, of violence suffered, chronicles true stories of African women who migrated to Europe, often suffering rape, forced prostitution, violence, war and poverty.

Theresa May’s premiership is skirting disaster, with Brexiteers accusing her of embarking on a strategy of “total surrender” in the face of a 48-hour deadline to either secure a deal with Brussels or activate ‘No Deal’ preparations.

The Prime Minister has offered a raft of heavy concessions to the European Union in order to secure free trade in goods and agri-products with the bloc and maintain an open border between the Republic of Ireland and the British province of Northern Ireland.

These include payment of an enormous multi-billion pound ‘divorce bill’ to Brussels, continuing wholesale adoption of the EU’s rules and regulations through a ‘common rulebook’ effectively adjudicated by EU judges, and membership of the EU Customs Union.

The proposals, which would effectively prevent the United Kingdom from regaining sovereign control of its international trade policy and regulatory regime, have already been denounced as ‘Brexit In Name Only’, or BRINO, by Leave campaigners — but, for the European Union, they do not go far enough.

Malta has ordered Italy to give priority to “life at sea” rather than border control after Matteo Salvini accused Valletta of aiding illegal immigration.

The Italian interior minister and deputy prime minister had denounced a “hostile act” from fellow EU member Malta after migrants who landed on Lampedusa Friday claimed they were helped to reach Italy by Maltese authorities.

Witnesses said the boatload of 13 illegal immigrants, 10 of whom were reportedly Tunisian, was running low on fuel when the Maltese coastguard stepped in to supply two tanks of fuel, a compass, and life vests to migrants on the vessel, which they escorted for about an hour towards Italy.
