I was digging on HRC and a bunch of the demonrats. I find it interdasting that they all have the environment/fish and wildlife/forest ties, etc. in common. They are always passing a bill here or visiting other countries to help with things like water or their ecosystem. Blah blah blah…

I found this article that just so happened to be deleted about “DRAGON” and association with “Forest Mekong.” I’ve included a couple of articles related to the issue and I think it might be worth a dig.

Abstract

Forecast Mekong is part of the U.S. Department of State's Lower Mekong Initiative, which was launched in 2009 by Secretary Hillary Clinton and the Foreign Ministers of Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam to enhance partnerships between the U.S. and the Lower Mekong River countries in the areas of environment, health, education, and infrastructure. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is working in close cooperation with the U.S. Department of State to use research and data from the Lower Mekong Basin to provide hands-on results that will help decision makers in Lower Mekong River countries in the planning and design for restoration, conservation, and management efforts in the basin.

DRAGON includes information on 15 deltas of international importance: the Amazon, Chao Phraya, Danube, Ganges, Huang He, Irrawaddy, Lena, Mekong, Mississippi, Nile, Okavango, Rhine,Selenga, Volga, and Yangtze.

The USGS has spearheaded the Data Research and Global Observation Network (DRAGON) partnership, an international community of practice dedicated to sharing data on the great deltas and rivers of the world, and to develop comparative models and visualization tools in order to facilitate ecological forecasting regarding climate change and development that ultimately helps in guiding decision making. The great deltas of the world are among our most heavily populated and agriculturally productive landscapes, yet these low-lying coastal areas are extremely vulnerable to climate change and development impacts.

“Forecast Mekong,” a component of the DRAGON partnership, is using its experience with the Mississippi River and its expertise in earth science modeling to help the Mekong countries assess how climate change and human activities could impact the ecology and food security of the Mekong basin. Despite a geographic difference of twelve time zones, there are many cultural, economic and ecological similarities between the Mississippi and Mekong River Deltas.  In 2009, USGS scientists met with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and representatives of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to discuss with foreign ministers the Secretary’s Lower Mekong Initiative, which includes the DRAGON, the USGS Forecast Mekong visualization tools, and the Sister-River initiative.  This ongoing collaboration is a successful example of science diplomacy in action.

Depletion of the world’s clean water resources is a threat to life and livelihoods everywhere. The ready availability of clean water is fundamental to human well-being and sustainable development.  But the increasing demand for clean water continues to outpace global resources and capabilities.

To address this challenge, federal agencies are partnering with private industry through the U.S. Water Partnership (USWP). Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton announced the USWP in a speech commemorating World Water Day on March 22, 2012.

“Our domestic experiences with water and our technical expertise are valued around the world,” said Secretary Clinton. “And as countries become more water stressed or nations face water-related crises, they are increasingly turning to the United States for assistance.”

-I believe they use environment and agencies surrounding to please the tree huggers WHILE doing their dirty work RIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR FACES …they don’t give a shit about anything except wealth and power. If they have the money and control they have the world.

These people are fucking sick, they’ll stop at NOTHING!
