Completely unconfirmed, unverified, totally 4th or 5th person information here.

Talking to a friend of mine who has family that is in a high position in the Mexican military, he asked why Mexico wasn’t doing more to stop the caravan. The reply was along these lines.

There are bad elements within the caravan, MS-13 and others that have been involved in cartels. These bad people that are trying to hide in the caravan are moving through heavy cartel areas of Mexico (well, all of Mexico is one cartel or another, so whatever). The cartels are picking out anyone moving through their area that is MS-13 or believed to be from rival cartels and disposing of them. Their pulling them out of the caravan, off the buses, out of the trucks, etc. They really don’t like rivals messing around in their areas.

The plan, apparently, is to let the cartels work on reducing the size of the caravan by removing the worst elements, and when it gets closer to the border, then the Mexican army will set up check points, etc, and funnel everyone into one area to be rounded up. The will most likely do this when they get to the state of Tamulipas.

It kind of makes sense in that there is no need to put the Mexican government into a position of potentially bad optics plus no need to put their guys into a confrontation when the cartels can do most of the heavy lifting for you.

This brings me to this thought. Thousands of National Guards along with equipment deployed to the border in heavily democrat areas to “protect the border”. Articles about the poor conditions and not having good meals abound from NYT https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-11-11/taunted-local-whataburger-deployed-border-troops-scrape-cold-mres-and-no

But, looking at the caravan, there doesn’t really seem to be a need for NG, the Border Patrol, ICE and Texas DPS should be able to handle it. Texas DPS even have a few boats in the Rio Grande with 900hp that could offer support. (video related).

I’m wondering if maybe the troop deployment has to do with martial law in the heavy dem areas once the sealed indictments start flying? Prepositioned assets and all. To me it seems to make a little more sense in that scenario than really trying to stop a caravan. I mean, they deployed a lot of assets to a specific area not even knowing (or at least we don’t know) if the caravan is headed to that area.

Thoughts?

The ones right now don't, but they set up tents, generators, first aid stations, etc. As a matter of fact, they are set up to handle a few thousand people, they don't necessarily have to be from a caravan from mexico.

I lean toward believing it, these cartel people are ruthless. It would also help explain why the caravan has been dissipating and why it slowed down.
