it seems they claim it's used for transgender children who had a vagina formed surgically.

while i couldn't imagine the trauma a child must endure to go through something like this, it seems like an all too convenient reason.

as much as I don't want to play devil's advocate here, it appears that something called vaginal agenesis might be a reason to dilate a child. maybe using a dilator during puberty will help the vagina form fully so that one day the patient can have a child. unfortunately, I don't know enough about biology or medicine and those things to really be able to form a good argument for the use of dilating children

now tell me why rectal dilators exist.

either way, this is pretty fucked up.
