Once got washed over 200 miles NE of Cape Cod in Feb. during a ripping gale.
Saw the rolling shock and keel cooler under the boat from the deck light gare on the sea foam.
Could hear the wheel off to the left, whump, whump, whump.
Boat rolled back toward me and I surfed back on the deck, wham.
Had one thing been different I’d have been gone.
I look back at it in wonder.
