Many reasons for that. Mainly geopolitical. US has been backing Pakis for way too long. Now China is flexing so it's a natural alliance.
Add to that - Vedanta is a very peaceful religion.
They do this all the time. Arctic training. It's NATO's point after all… not to fuck around in Libya.
