Our friends got a knock on the door at 6:30. They grabbed what they could and left. There was no time for anything else- their picture albums, nothing. Grabbed the car, clothes and left.
They went to what’s left of their house today but it’s gone. Nothing to salvage. They are devastated. Staying with our mutual friends. They said people on their street died because they weren’t out in time. She talked to the daughter of a victim and said that her mom called and told them of the evacuation and was packing clothes to leave. That was the last they heard from her until they found the bodies.
