Watch–Caravan Migrants Arrive at Southern Border, Scale Fence

Video footage released by various Mexican news agencies show the first group of migrants with a caravan of 7,000 to 10,000 Central Americans have arrived at the United States-Mexico border.

In live video footage by Televisa Tijuana Oficial and FRONTERA, Central American migrants reportedly with the caravan can be seen scaling a border fence that separates Tijuana, Mexico, and San Diego, California.

As Breitbart News’s Robert Arce reported, newly released video footage shows that 400 migrants with the caravan were escorted through the northern border state of Sonora as the busloads of Central Americans head to the U.S.-Mexico border.

President Trump has deployed more than 5,000 members of the U.S. military to the southern border to aid federal immigration officials in dealing with the caravan.

Nearly 400,000 illegal border-crossers have crossed into the U.S. this year, as of last month. In October, nearly 51,000 border-crossers were apprehended, Breitbart News reported.

As Breitbart News has chronicled, though the establishment media has repeatedly claimed that the caravan is seeking to enter the U.S. to seek asylum, the Central American migrants have continuously admitted they are not seeking asylum.

Instead, the migrants are looking for jobs, crime-free communities, and many are previously deported illegal aliens who are looking to go back to their former, illegal life in the U.S. None of these cases is eligible as asylum claims.

Democrat leader is asked how they will pay for healthcare plan – her response is surprising

Seema Nanda, the CEO of the Democratic National Committee, had a surprising response when pressed on how Democrats plan to pay for Medicare for All, a plan for universal healthcare that many are advocating.

“Just how do you answer the cost question?”

Nanda made the comments while speaking at the Yahoo Finance All Markets Summit Tuesday. After deflecting on the question and blaming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), she admitted they had no plan to pay for the policy.

“There has been some analysis, some third party analysis of a Medicare for All program,” said Rick Newman of Yahoo Finance, “what it would be like, how much it might cost is a big issue.”

“It would be very expensive, so if this is going to be a winning issue for Democrats in 2020, how do you answer the question of how are you going to pay for this, because there have been credible studies that say it would cost three trillion dollars a year, you would have to double everybody’s taxes, or maybe triple everybody’s taxes – just how do you answer the cost question?” he asked.

“So I don’t think we’re there yet,” Nanda offered simply.

“I think what we saw a Republican party, this Republican party,” she continued, “is we saw an irresponsible tax cut, and then we saw an immediate pivot that they did, towards, it was in statements by Mitch McConnell just shortly before the election, but statements that they’ve been making all along that they plan to go after Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid next.”

“It is this president that is causing skyrocketing deficits and now they plan on going after these core programs?” Nanda asked.

“So your answer is I don’t know how we’re going to get there,” she concluded. “But these are all big conversations that we need to be engaged in.”

A group of LGBTQ migrants from the Honduran caravan has arrived at the U.S. border

According to reporters at the U.S. border, a group of LGBTQ persons from the migrant caravans has arrived in Tijuana, and moved on from the border town to the beach.

The exodus from central American countries began with one caravan and about a thousand people, but it has swelled to four caravans with as many as 7,000 or more, depending on different reports.

Migrants were given an opportunity by the Mexican government to obtain asylum there, including work permits, healthcare, and other aid, but they rejected the offer when it was made clear they would have to settle in southern Mexico. Instead, they have pressed on towards the U.S. border.

Some of the migrants are LGBTQ persons who are seeking asylum based on bigotry and violence against them over their their gender and sexual orientation.

They organized within the greater group, raised their own money, and secured buses for the rest of the trip. They also stayed at an AirBNB rental in an upscale part of Tijuana Sunday.

The LGBTQ group of migrants says they have faced bigotry and hostility from Mexicans as they moved through their country towards the United States.

The largest group of migrants is about 1,500 miles away from Tijuana and is still moving on foot. It is expected to take days or even weeks to arrive at the border.

Meanwhile, security has been reinforced at the border entry at Tijuana in order to prepare for the arrival of the migrants. They have shown a willingness to use violence in order to continue their trek – one man was killed in clashes with law enforcement in Mexico already.

Various pictures of the migrant arrival at the border were posted on social media.

President Donald Trump made the caravans a focus for the midterm elections as he blamed Democrats’ reticence to update immigration laws for the caravans.

‘The Worst Deal in History’: Brexiteers Respond to Theresa May’s ‘Slave State’ Agreement With Europe

The Prime Minister has betrayed the principles of Brexit and is subjecting the United Kingdom to political slavery at the hands of Brussels, Brexiteers have said as the details of the Prime Minister’s deal leaked to Irish media Tuesday afternoon.

Brexiteers within the Conservative party met Tuesday as the news emerged of a “technical level” agreement emerged — apparently leaked to Irish journalists sympathetic to the European Union but not to figures within the United Kingdom — and spoke of launching a “coup” against the Prime Minister, Britain’s The Times reported in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Several prominent pro-Brexit figures lined up to condemn the plan, which if the leaks are representative of what has been agreed, would see most promises and red-lines promised by the Prime Minister broken or ignored.

A key agreement with the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) — the Ulster party which gives Theresa May’s minority government ten key votes which keep it in power seems to also have been broken, as the apparent deal would see Northern Ireland under a different regulatory framework, dictated by Brussels, than Great Britain.

The UK is also believed to have provisionally committed to “level playing field” rules with the European Union, meaning the country has no freedom to become more competitive in the future to attract foreign investment and business, and must remain tied to the EU in areas such as tax and the economy.

Pentagon Researchers Test 'Worst-Case Scenario' Attack on U.S. Power Grid

Plum Island, N.Y. – The team of grid operators had spent days restoring power when a digital strike took out one of two operational utility stations. The other utility was also under attack.

A month had passed since all power in the region was taken down by a devastating cyberattack. It had been a grueling six days restoring power across two electrical utilities and to the building deemed a critical national asset by the Secretary of Energy.

The cyber strike hadn’t forced the team back to zero, but it wasn’t far from it.

Just moments ago, the two electric utilities had been working in concert, delivering reliable and redundant power to the critical asset. Now one utility was down for the count and the other was under attack.

The grid operators’ only chance to restore power to the asset would be to route it, substation by substation, from the utility that was still operating. The team of cybersecurity researchers assisting the grid operators would have to use every piece of technology and know-how they had to ensure that utility stayed powered up, trustworthy and malware-free.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency exercise, which took place from Nov. 1 to Nov. 7, was fictional, but it was designed to mimic all the hurdles and uncertainty of a real-world cyberattack that took out power across the nation for weeks on end–a scenario known as a “black start.”

To add realism, the exercise took place on Plum Island, a federal research facility off the north fork of Long Island, where DARPA researchers were able to segregate a portion of the island on its own electric grid.

Over the course of the seven-day exercise, more than 100 people gathered on the island, filling every necessary role to mimic an actual black start.

At the center of the exercise was a team of grid operators from electric utilities across the nation, which was in charge of restoring and sustaining power.

At its most basic level, their job involved creating initial power transmissions at both utilities using a diesel generator, then building cyber-secure “crank paths” through a series of electric substations that would increase the transmissions’ voltage until they were capable of powering the two utilities and delivering redundant power to the exercise’s critical asset.

Meanwhile, another team of DARPA-funded cyber researchers from seven different industry groups used custom built technology to keep the grid operators’ efforts protected from cyber adversaries.

A third DARPA-funded team took the role of the cyber adversaries, throwing a wrench into the good guys’ efforts every time they seemed to be getting ahead.

“We have a bunch of things that try to make this as painful as possible for everyone,” project leader Walter Weiss told reporters on a rainy Tuesday, the sixth day of the exercise. “How do you actually keep the smartest people in the world busy for a week? That takes effort.”
