I was thinking that if gravity is a wave pattern of mass projected 90 degrees inward (not distance) then that would define the tensor on space time. Then all you would have to do is learn how to create that wave pattern projecting inward without mass to create a wormhole.

You are probably right on that but you could bend space or time or both enough to step to next location.
Find the wave pattern synchronize and focus in proper location and that point in space time would be warped (others would see you accelerate very fast).
You would definitely want a MAP before sending a human through.
