Regarding Italy 8chan block:

[EU]-anon here.

Does any anon know how this is done?

By changing DNS records reported back by ISP?

Would it be possible to simply accessing the site differently?

Is it blocked using DPI?

I want to prepare before being blocked.

Baker

I just found a comment saying that Italian ISPs are blocking DNS requests to banned sites on their own DNS servers.

Which means it should be possible to circument the block by simply using a different DNS server.

Comment:

>for example, the Italian government does: the national ISPs are asked to change their DNS servers so that requests to banned site are instead redirected to a government-hosted page.

Maybe add this to the bread, hopefully an Italian anon can verify if this helps.

Thanks, anon.

It seems though that Italy is not using DPI, so anti-DPI software is not needed.

I'm not even sure if this Anti-DPI software would help for DNS censorship.

I will definitely write down the IP addresses resolved for 8ch.net, so in the worst case I can also simply use hosts file.

Hopefully an Italian anon can confirm if my or the Anti-DPI method works.
