Emotion is absolutely something that needs to be controlled. I operate a fairly large business IRL, and quite of then I run in to situations that require me to make decisions based on logic, and not impulse in order to avoid headaches down the road. Often my front line employees will not understand the reasoning behind my decisions, simply because they do not see the full picture. Q and Trump have a similar vantage point, seeing all of the moving parts, while we see very few. A good metaphor is that we see a fire and scream "throw water on it!!!", not realizing it is a grease fire, and the solution is not water.
