U.S. Designates Son of Hezbollah Leader a Terrorist
WASHINGTON—The U.S. State Department on Nov. 13, designated Jawad Nasrallah, son of Lebanon’s Iran-backed Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, a terrorist and accused him of carrying out attacks against Israel in the West Bank.
The department also blacklisted Al-Mujahidin Brigades (AMB), which it said had links to Hezbollah and had plotted a number of attacks against Israeli targets from a base in the Palestinian Territories.
“Today’s designations seek to deny Nasrallah and AMB the resources to plan and carry out terrorist attacks,” the State Department said in a statement. It said the actions denied Nasrallah and AMB access to the U.S. financial system.

Resolution to Stop Cold Genocide Starts Conversation in America’s Largest Medical Association
WASHINGTON—A resolution aimed at preventing organ transplant operations from becoming “a profitable tool in a cold genocide” was presented at an annual meeting of the American Medical Association in Washington on Nov. 11.
Supporters hope that the medical community can follow the example of the U.S. Congress, which has passed a resolution calling for a stop to forced organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience.

Merkel echoes France’s call for Europe to create its own army
German Chancellor Angela Merkel is calling for the eventual creation of a European army, echoing a suggestion by French President Emmanuel Macron that recently angered the U.S. president.
“What is really important, if we look at the developments of the past year, is that we have to work on a vision of one day creating a real, true European army,” Merkel said in a speech before the European Parliament in Strasbourg on November 13.
“A common European army would show the world that there will never again be war between European countries,” she said.
Merkel said she envisioned a European army that would function in parallel with NATO and come under a European Security Council, centralizing the continent’s defense structure.
Europe must take our fate into our own hands if we want to protect our community,” Merkel said.
Her comments came a week after Macron called for a European army that would give Europe greater independence from the United States as well as defend the continent against such possible aggressors as Russia and China.
His comments provoked an angry response from U.S. President Donald Trump and prompted Trump to step up calls on European countries to increase their contributions to NATO.

US Border Patrol agents made record number of arrests in October
U.S. Customs and Border Protection made a record number of arrests in October, according to the latest figures.
Agents arrested 23,121 migrant family members last month — marking the highest one-month total under President Trump and a 38% jump from September, The Washington Post reported.
In total, CBP arrested or deemed inadmissible 60,745 people along Mexico border last month, also marking a record, according to the report.
The Trump administration on Thursday announced new measures blocking migrants who cross the border illegally from seeking asylum at the southern border.
The American Civil Liberties Union on Friday filed a lawsuit seeking an injunction to block the hard-line immigration policy.

Romanian ruling lawmakers push bill to cancel wiretap evidence
BUCHAREST (Reuters) - Lawmakers in Romania approved a bill on Wednesday that would cancel wiretap evidence used to prosecute past corruption cases and could wipe out hundreds of convictions, including that of the head of the ruling Social Democrats.
The lower house vote, pushed through by the Social Democrats and their coalition partner, seemed certain to increase concern within the European Union whose executive on Tuesday criticized moves in Romania to weaken the independence of the judiciary and democracy.
If it comes into force, the bill would retroactively cancel evidence intercepted by the intelligence services on behalf of prosecutors based on court warrants.
It could nullify hundreds of verdicts for crimes ranging from corruption to human trafficking, including potentially the case against Social Democrat leader Liviu Dragnea, a former deputy prime minister.
Dragnea, who backed the bill together with Calin Tariceanu, leader of the junior coalition partner ALDE, was given a two-year suspended sentence in 2016 for electoral fraud and is currently on trial in a separate abuse of office case, with a third investigation under way

Modi government, Indian central bank set for uneasy truce: sources
NEW DELHI/MUMBAI (Reuters) - India's government and its central bank are getting close to ironing out some of their policy differences, said two sources familiar with the discussions, as they seek to defuse worsening tensions that had threatened to unnerve investors.
While the rift is far from healed, the sources said enough progress had been made to avoid acrimony at a board meeting of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) next Monday. The threat that RBI Governor Urjit Patel would quit, as reported by some Indian newspapers last week, is also thought to be off the table for now, they said.
The uneasy truce is likely to see the RBI ease up on some lending restrictions to help the government stimulate the economy, said the sources. One source said the central bank could agree to tweak restrictions on lending to improve credit flows for smaller companies with a borrowing limit of 250 million rupees ($3.4 million).
There are five key state elections in the next few weeks and a general election due by May. The Congress party has already been harrying the government over allegations of corruption in a military jet deal with France and infighting between the top officials of India's equivalent of the FBI.

Children’s charity Kars4Kids leaks info on 21,000 donors
Kars4Kids is a charity that asks people to donate their cars, motorcycles, RVs, and real estate. They are most known for their nationwide advertising using their hypnotic theme song where a child and a Johny Cash impersonator sing the phone number and invites people to donate their cars today.
On the 3rd of November, Bob Diachenko, Director of Cyber Risk Research at Hacken has found what appeared to be a publicly accessible MongoDB. Upon further investigation, the data seemed to contain the emails and personal data of 21,612 Kars4Kids donors/customers and super administrator login and password details.
What is worse is that there were internal accounts with usernames and passwords that cybercriminals may have used to access the Kars4Kids dashboard, that would give them access to even more sensitive data – like vacation vouchers (free holidays for those that donated their vehicles) and receipts, with such personal data like emails, home addresses, phone numbers, and etc.

Another Facebook vulnerability could have exposed information about users and their friends
The security company Imperva has released new details on a Facebook vulnerability that could have exposed user data. The bug allowed websites to obtain private information about Facebook users and their friends through unauthorized access to a company API, playing off a specific behavior in the Chrome browser. The bug was disclosed to Facebook and resolved in May.
In technical terms, the attack is a cross-site request forgery, using a legitimate Facebook login in unauthorized ways. For the attack to work, a Facebook user must visit a malicious website with Chrome, and then click anywhere on the site while logged into Facebook. From there, attackers could open a new pop-up or tab to the Facebook search page and run any number of queries to extract personal information.
Some examples Imperva gives are checking if a user has taken photos in a certain location or country, if the user has written any recent posts that contain specific text, or checking if a user’s friends like a company’s Facebook page. In essence, the vulnerability exposed the interests of a user and their friends even if privacy settings were set so interests were only visible to a user’s friends.
Imperva says the vulnerability was not a common technique and the issue has been resolved with Facebook. However, it does mention that these more sophisticated social engineering attacks could become more common in 2019.

Just hours after Jeff Sessions resigned as attorney general last Wednesday at the president’s behest, #TheResistance found its newest target for destruction: Sessions’ interim replacement, Matthew Whitaker.
Negative coverage about the acting attorney general has dominated national publications and cable news outlets. Reporters have portrayed Whitaker as a Trump lackey, a crackpot, and an “attack dog”; Democratic leaders are demanding that he recuse himself from overseeing Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation; on Tuesday, incoming House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) warned that if Whitaker fails to step aside from the probe, “his actions will be exposed.” (Of course, this is pure propaganda. As Andrew McCarthy explains, Whitaker is well-qualified and meets the legal requirements for an interim presidential cabinet appointment.)

In addition to funding dissident ex-conservatives, Omidyar, 51, and his wife—who have pledged to give their more than $10 billion fortune to charity—operate an extensive network of nonprofits and foundations around the world. Omidyar has directed millions of dollars to a variety of progressive causes and political candidates: he and wife “have have given more than $500,000 to federal candidates and groups—nearly all of them Democrats—since 1999,” including six-figure donations to the Democratic senate and congressional campaign committees.
The Omidyars have also been among the most prolific supporters of left-wing causes for years. According to a 2014 report by the Media Research Center, “Michael Bloomberg, Warren Buffett, Pierre Omidyar, Tom Steyer and George Soros’s son, Jonathan are major funders of the left. Together, they have contributed at least $2.7 billion since 2000 to groups pushing abortion, gun control, climate change alarmism and liberal candidates.” And lately, Omidyar seems to have become a big fan of Kristol’s, probably because of their mutual hatred of Donald Trump. Digging a little deeper it looks like they may have more in common since Kristol has recently found his “inner socialist” and he now opposes Republican candidates.

Texan Charged with Attempted Murder for Planning to Rape and Eat a Child
A man from Shelby County, Texas, was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation after allegedly arranging to sexually assault, kill, and cannibalize the daughter of someone he had met on a darkweb forum
A special agent with the Texas Department of Public Safety followed up on the report from the Child Exploitation Task force by sending an email to one of the email addresses found on the forum post. The undercover agent posed as a father interested in offering his daughter to the poster. The fictional father emailed the poster about his daughter and asked whether or not he could also participate in the gruesome crimes the forum poster had fantasized about committing. Shortly after sending an email, the agent found a response in his inbox consisting of the following line: “Nice! I’m in East Texas. How old is your daughter? Can we kill her?” The email contained graphic details of what the forum poster wanted to do to the girl before and after killing her.
