Has anyone noticed something quite weird about the Paradise 'Camp Fire'?

How is it that the fire consumed buildings yet trees right by them are unscathed?
Directed energy weapons anyone???
Its also interesting to note how the lawn where the McDonald's sign is and the sign itself are unscathed.
I wonder if Paradise is sitting on a huge amount of ore of some sort. Gold? Silver? Uranium??? Coal?????
