Pompeo, Qatari Deputy Prime Minister Discuss US Plan to Create 'Arab NATO'

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Qatari Deputy Prime Minister Khalid Al-Attiyah met in Washington to discuss the Trump administration's proposal to create an Arab security alliance, the State Department said in a press release on Wednesday.

"Secretary Michael R. Pompeo met today with Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Khalid Al-Attiyah," the release said. "The Secretary and the Deputy Prime Minister discussed working toward a Middle East Strategic Alliance, anchored by a united GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council), to advance prosperity, security, and stability in the region."

President Donald Trump's administration has proposed creating the Middle East Strategic Alliance, an Arab security pact widely referred to as an "Arab NATO," made up of the six Arab states of the GCC along with Egypt and Jordan.

The goal of creating such an alliance of Sunni Arab states would be to counter the growing influence of Iran in the Middle East, US officials have said. Similar US initiatives to establish a collective Arab security pact have failed in the past.

The Trump administration's efforts to create the alliance have been hampered by an ongoing rift between Qatar and the other Arab states in the GCC. In June 2017, GCC members Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, along with Egypt, severed diplomatic relations with Qatar, accusing the country of supporting terrorism. Qatar has firmly denied the accusations.

During their talks in Washington, Pompeo and Attiyah also discussed regional security and stability, bilateral ties and other mutual interests in the region, as well as the upcoming US-Qatar Strategic Dialogue, the release said.

The two officials also spoke about an ongoing project to expand Qatar's Al-Udeid Airbase, the largest military facility used by US forces in the Gulf region. The project to expand the base, which hosts more than 10,000 US and coalition forces, was launched in July.

The military base is home to the US Air Force Central Command (AFCENT) and serves as major communications and operational centre for the coalition fighting against the Daesh* terrorist group in the region.

EXCLUSIVE: President Trump Calls For Brenda Snipes To Be Fired

President Donald Trump believes that embattled Broward County Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes is a “disgrace” and should be fired.

The president spoke to The Daily Caller in an exclusive, wide-ranging interview Wednesday at the White House. The president did not mince words when asked about Snipes and the Florida recount.

Snipes has come under fire by media and elected Republicans for multiple irregularities in her vote reporting. After the Florida Senate race was called for Republican Gov. Rick Scott on election night, election supervisors in Broward and Palm Beach counties were still adding votes to their tally, in violation of Florida reporting law. In the subsequent days, Snipes defied a judge’s order to submit “over-voted” and “under-voted” absentee ballots for public review and admitted to “accidentally” mixing illegal ballots in with good ones. The illegal ballots “cannot be identified” now, according to Snipes.

TheDC asked the president specifically if he considers this behavior illegal and what Snipes’ future in her role as an election official should be.

“She’s a disaster,” Trump said.

He pointed to Snipes’ past alleged election illegality, which included destroying ballots and opening ballots illegally.

“You look at her past, she’s a disaster,” Trump said, “Even with me. I won Florida and — you remember? That area, Broward, didn’t come in,” Trump said of Broward County and Snipes. “You can only put in so many votes, although she may change that system.”

“When they call this woman incompetent, they’re wrong,” Trump said of Snipes. “She’s very competent but in a bad way.”

When asked directly by TheDC if Snipes should be removed from office, Trump said, “Oh, she should have been removed — I think she should have been removed in the middle of this mix-up.”

Scott has considered removing Snipes.

Trump went on to say they should have called Florida during the evening of the election. “Well, many votes were added to that, and you know what’s going on. And now they have mixed them up. They mixed the votes up and now you can’t find the ones that were put in, they just put ’em in to a batch.”

The president also renewed his call for national voter ID laws and decried illegal voting.

Garden City, Missouri Lays Off Entire Police Force; No Explanation Given

The Garden City Police Department of Missouri said on Nov. 14, that the entire town’s police force has been laid off, effective immediately.

The city told Chief Thomas Alber at 10 a.m. it would lay off 100 percent of its police department, Fox4 reported. No explanation was given. It’s not clear if any staff will be replaced.

“No further guidance was given for pending criminal cases or coverage of the city when the chief is not on duty,” the department wrote on its Facebook page, according to Fox4.

The police department tweeted that Alber would still be employed. “No explanation was given nor plans to staff GCMOPD beyond the Chief,” it wrote.

The department has seven sworn officers and five civilian volunteers.

As of 2017, the town has a population of about 1,600.

Other details were not clear.

Garden City, in Cass County, is located about 30 miles south of Kansas City.

Not the First Time

It’s not the first time this year that a town’s entire police force was fired or quit. In July, the entire four-person police department of Blandford, Massachusetts, resigned over safety concerns. “Attention Blandford residents: If you have a police, fire or medical emergency, please continue to call 911 as you normally would. The entire Blandford Police Department resigned this evening, effective immediately,” the department’s Facebook page wrote in a deleted post.

For the time being, 911 calls were handled by county officials and neighboring police departments, NBC News reported.

“The town is asking officers to patrol in cars that have no a/c, no snow tires, and no four-wheel drive, on days that have been 90 plus degrees, and previously in blizzard conditions. They are asking us to do this with no radio coverage, no real backup if needed, and all for $14 or $15 an hour,” a statement read.

Also in July, the entire police department of Southport, North Carolina, was put on leave after its chief and lieutenant were arrested, WECT reported at the time. Chief Gary Smith, 46, and Lt. Michael Christian Simmons, 48, were charged with several crimes, including conspiracy to obtain property by false pretenses.

In 2016, the town of Bunker Hill, Indiana, saw its entire police force quit because the city’s leaders were engaged in “illegal, unethical, and immoral things,” NBC reported at the time. “This was our last effort to make a statement,” former Marshal Michael Thomison told the network.

Macron has lost his mind: He attacks Trump and ignores Islamic terrorism – French political leader

The leader of French party Debout la France has heavily attacked President Emmanuel Macron in a programme of broadcaster LCI.

Nicolas Dupont-Aignan says Macron closes his eyes for Islamic terrorism like the French government did for Hitler in the inter-war period.

“He’s attacked the heads of democratic states… and he closes his eyes to Islamic terrorism,” Dupont-Aignan says.

The Debout la France leader was shocked to see Erdogan sitting near Macron at the front row during the WWI remembrance ceremony. A man “who is occupying a European country, Cyprus, who has supported jihadis and who keeps threatening Europe”.

Dupont-Aignan is highly surprised that compared to his attitude towards Erdogan, Macron in the meantime attacks Trump and other democratic leaders.

Theresa May ‘to face vote of NO CONFIDENCE tomorrow’

It could happen as soon as tomorrow. Rumours swirling tonight are growing that Brexiteer Tory MPs could call for a no confidence vote against Prime Minister Theresa May.

It would seem to be more than just abounding rumours as Sam Coates of The Times has hinted at more letters going in, this time “from non-usual suspects”.

A bit later in the evening, Laura Kuenssberg of the BBC reports that Brexiteer anger is so great there could be a no confidence vote as early as tomorrow.

Tory MP Conor Burns says of the potential move against Mrs. May: “I have consistently said we don’t want to change the PM, we want to change the policy of the PM.

“However there comes a point where if the PM is insistent that she will not change the policy, then the only way to change the policy is to change the personnel.”

Could this be the end of May and the beginning of a REAL Brexit?
