Michael Avenatti, who became famous for representing Stormy Daniels in her battle with President Trump, has been arrested for felony domestic violence … law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

Our law enforcement sources say Avenatti was arrested Wednesday after his estranged wife filed a felony DV report. We're told her face was "swollen and bruised."

Our sources say the alleged incident occurred Tuesday, but there was a confrontation Wednesday between the two at an exclusive apartment building in the Century City area of L.A.

We're told during Wednesday's confrontation the woman ran out of the apartment building and was on the sidewalk on her cellphone with sunglasses covering her eyes, screaming on the phone, "I can't believe you did this to me."

We're told security brought her inside the building and Michael showed up 5 minutes later, ran into the building, chasing after her. He screamed repeatedly, "She hit me first." We're told he angrily added, "This is bulls, this is fing bulls***."

A law enforcement source says on Tuesday, Avenatti "kicked her out of the apartment" and that's presumably when the alleged domestic violence occurred. We're told she went back to the apartment on Wednesday to retrieve her belongings and called police to stand by in case things got heated.

They've been married since 2011. He filed for divorce in 2017.

We're told Avenatti is currently in custody.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning regarding rare cases of necrotizing fasciitis of the perineum associated with sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, a class of drugs approved to treat type 2 diabetes.

Necrotizing fasciitis of the perineum, also known as Fournier's gangrene, is a serious infection of the genitals and area around the genitals. Over a 5-year period (March 2013 to May 2018), the FDA identified 12 cases (7 men and 5 women) of Fournier's gangrene in patients taking an SGLT2 inhibitor. The infection developed within several months of the patients starting SGLT2 therapy and the drug was discontinued in most cases. All patients required surgery and there was 1 reported death.
