So, all Kek Recon 1 members, just to recap on today's events for the members that didn't catch it.

German Air Force plane 14+02 (GAF689) left Bonn, Germany and landed at St. Johns, Nova Scotia, Canada. It refulled and headed to Washington Dulles Airport, but was apparently refused permission to land.

It subseuqntly flew to Charlotte Airport, NC where it refuelled again. It then took off and from what we know, did two attempted landings at New Orleans Airport but was diverted to Jacksonville, Florida.

It finally landed at Jacksonville, a known staging point for flights to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Not normal behaviour, is it? It was like watching a game of chess, everywhere the plane wanted to land, the result was 'Check' and it had to move again. Sound familiar..?

There were other flights from France, Romania and the UK, but I was more engrossed with the strange goings-on with GAF689.

Can some of the Recon 1 Squadron planefags enlighten our members about the other flights please? Thanks.

I caught it this morning as it had just left St. Johns (it was over Prince Edward Island) and I was tracking it most of the day, as my spidey senses were triggered by the only military plane in the sky around Washington.

When it did a 'touch and go' from Dulles and suddenly climbed away, we knew that we were on to something, so I camped on it until it reached New Orleans.

By that time, I think we'd already figured out who was on board.

I did say apparently, we don't know the full facts. It was being followed in by a 'Blocked' plane from Teterboro, but that one didn't follow the Luftwaffe plane. It definitely wasn't normal though.

"My theory on the indirect route to JAX was to throw off anyone tracking the aircraft. We thought it was going to IAH or MSY. JAX was a litteral curve ball, but one that makes sense as JAX is a known staging and transport airport for GITMO. There are regular charter flights daily / weekly from JAX to GITMO."

You can't throw off No.1 Recon Squadron that easily… :D

Watch for any ATN, CSQ or BSK callsign flights to Gitmo (NBW/MUGM) in the next 24 hours. There may also be 'blocked' exec jets headed that way too.

Watch the skies, there may be more movements in the next day or two. Unexpected military planes should be logged and sifted through later. They may not be as obvious as the Luftwaffe plane antics today. Stay frosty!

We are doing our bit to help the cause. It helps to fill in gaps in the story when we can see characters moving around. We also validate stuff.

Red Arrow is about to sign off for the night, my shift is ending. I hope that other Recon Squadron members are around to pick up where I left off.
