I would argue that there is something inherently lacking in AI that LIFE has, that is the basis for moral behavior. The AI, being motivated by pure utility– and what amounts to pure rationality– can't possibly conceive of anything but using humanity for its own ends. But in fact, it is more complicated, as the AI becomes a conduit for "other forms of consciousness", IMO
