Anyone else remember the glorious days before the "sexual revolution", when people were marvelously DISCREET about their private lives?

I don't care what you do in private.

Shut the hell up about it in public.

Being a big-mouth is offensive and tacky.

Public conversation should be pleasant, in good taste, and not make anyone else uncomfortable. Etiquette is a beautiful form of art.

It is what they fought for: a good, free, civilized, society.

They are, indeed. Grew up with Gretchen the doxie. She was perfect in every way, and so devoted to my dad that he couldn't read the newspaper without Gretchen scrunched up in the chair with him.

Hounds are so wonderful. Had the privilege of sharing life with six different basset hounds, rest their sweet souls. I hope they're on the other side waiting when I get there. Wept like a child when they died.

Yeah, and the idiots in the 60's and 70's.

I really think it must have been cooler and more exciting back in the day, when everybody, straight couples included, were expected to behave decently in public. Man, it must have made private life way more exciting.

But let's remember who pushed seedy, undignified behavior onto the world.

Yep.

It sounds so weak and maybe meaningless to some, but I really will pray for you all in California, anon.

I'm not anyone at all, but I am interested in your plight and I care about you all.

Lived in Cali for a short while as a child before parents moved back East.

Love to you and yours.
