Passing this as a law enforcment fag - here's a fine point about search warrants. They generally have to be served on the suspect (or the person whose stuff is being searched) when the search is conducted. They don't stay sealed after the search is conducted…

UNLESS

1) They are wiretap or other electronic surveillance, AND

2) You petition the court to keep them sealed after you execute the search in order to keep the target from absconding or destroying evidence.
