China has bought most of the land here paying cash higher than asking which drove our housing market out of control that Americans brought up here struggle to afford to buy here. Lots leave to where the cost of living is fair. The fires seem to be in good land for farming. Chinese are interested in buying rural land to farm. After fires land sells roughly a third of the cost as the owners don't want to wait years and go out of pocket with rebuilding because building codes are much stricter since their homes were built and insurance co. won't cover the upgrade costs.
