Nuclear Fuel Cycle. Take Uranium and put it in a reactor. It produces daughter isotopes such as Thorium and Americium. These are called transuranics. Each one of these isotopes can be extracted and reprocessed to feed new reactors. We go further up the periodic table with reactors until we end up with the final waste product; LEAD.

All of this was put to an end by Jimmy Carter. He felt that some of this reprocessing could lead to nuclear weapons development. So now we store it underground or in waste ponds. Radioactive as shit. Going to waste. Our energy needs have been solved many many times. This is just another example. One kg of uranium has enough energy to power a city for 1,000 years. Think E=MC^2

We let this energy go to waste, providing fuel for dirty bombs and rely off Arab oil because of one fucking democrat!

Only because (((environmentalists))) lobbied for the end of the Nuclear Fuel Cycle so that they could protect their energy rights. They also did that with 3 Mile Island. No radioactive material was released to the environment, yet they put a end to the building of new power plants. I suspect Chernobyl was a false flag designed to bring nuclear down. Willful violation of procedures and unauthorized tests. Now we rely on oil for electricity. Who controls the oil?

Your post reminded me of the Pebble Bed Reactor. One of the most promising nuclear designs of the modern era. It was an accident proof nuclear design. You stack balls of nuclear fuel on top of each other in the shape of a pyramid. As the reaction heats, the balls expand, naturally slowing the reaction as the space between the balls expands (no homo). The reactor always produced a predictable amount of heat. If it got hotter, the reaction slowed. If the pile every got too hot, the balls would topple and the reaction would stop. It was an accident free design.

They put an end to it. Project was headquartered in South Africa. Now it's canned. Let's stick with what's profitable and dangerous ( earns them money when we die).

USA rules the world. Think Petro-Dollar. At the end of World War II, the US through the Federal Reserve, discovered Oil in Saudi Arabia. We financed their oil empire and removed them from the dark ages. Aramco. In return they agreed to trade all oil (OPEC) with US dollars as the word's reserve currency. In other words, if you don't have the exact currency needed, you can always trade in US dollars. Eventually US dollars wer preferred.

This propped up the value of the US dollar but it also gave rise to American protectionism. We had to fight to keep the US dollar on the oil exchange markets. War for Oil…. We bartered off our Federal lands (US forests) to foreign nations to finance our wars. China holds the deeds over much of the US. We abandoned the gold standard when France tried to call in our debts. Fiat currency was born. Now we could print money out of thin air. The US became incredibly rich. Our military industrial complex was fully funded. The swamp was born. We progressed to the point to where no other nation could challenge us. Not even the USSR. We fought to keep our dollar needed and took out people like Gaddafi whenever they challenged our hegemony.

To answer your question. They world is not stupid. They are scared. The US has been setting the political standard for the last 70 years for the rest of the word. Either follow suit or face economic sanctions. Or even worse, military intervention. HRC did say "why can't we just drone his ass"? We push a button and you are dead. So the rest of the world follows suit. (((THEY ))) have controlled the US since 1913 but their reign is coming to an end. Lynn we can hear you breathing. You unleashed the monster. Now the sheep are sheep no more.
