The trick to getting this technique to work would likely be to remotely cycle the disconnect switch rapidly until failure and, in the process presumably creating enough heat to ignite the resin in the casing. Whole chain of manufacturing and administration would have to be comped to allow this to pass fire and safety code.
That said, I don't think this technique can account for the the damage we've seen but could create plausible deniability, trigger insurance payments and create customer liability.
