UKanon - I really do think the US healthcare system is a bit fucked up. Today I have had a tooth extracted and the necersary drugs/antibiotics. Total = about £65.
Brother has been in and out of hospital with undiagnosed kidney issues for years, fixed now after sent to specialist hospital. became opiate addict from pain meds. Whole cost of treatment including detox = £0
Dad - 2 weeks intensive care, meningitus, brain infection. 1 to 1 nursing care, neural specialist team attention. = £0
Wife - 12 months chemo/radio therapy, in and out of hospital, home visits by nurses etc etc = £0
I am not saying it is good because it is free, but I am saying your entire life savings shouldn't be wiped out by an illness.
