I think some may be our guys. Trying to reverse the Overton window or explicitly flip would expose them, but if they accelerate the window to the left, it exposes the absurdity of it all faster than a population can move with it.
Beyond that, it sets up the idea that accusations and no cross-examinations are acceptable, so when the round-up comes, and the cabal gets processed through the military tribunals which don't offer the same rights, then the left will not be able to argue against their previous position for civil law.
