I think Ted was the "black sheep" of the brothers..3 John,Joe,Robert…Why else would he protest his nephew wanting to get to the bottom of or understanding the nature of his father's death..this is a natural thing for anyone who loses a loved one. Ted discouraged any look into it. After all he was the hero of the family until the brothers John and Robert stole his thunder.

McConnell And Flake Spar Over Mueller Investigation

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Arizona Republican Sen. Jeff Flake apparently shared some serious words behind closed doors Thursday. As The Hill reports, the two were arguing over Flake’s efforts to ensure special counsel Robert Mueller can continue his ongoing investigation and not fear termination with just cause. In order to leverage his private agenda and bring his Mueller bill up for a vote, Flake has been playing political hardball with his own Republican Senate colleagues, opposing President Donald Trump’s nominees when they come before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Asked if the GOP is unhappy with Flake’s attempt to get a vote, Flake said, “That’s a safe assumption,” per The Hill.

McConnell allegedly also told Flake in no uncertain terms that he should cease and desist immediately, according to the same article. Flake, a maverick Republican who is retiring at the end of the session, reportedly wasn’t listening to the senior senator from Kentucky. “It’s a standoff,” one Republican senator who witnessed the squabble told The Hill. The altercation illustrated a genuine difference of opinion with the Republican Senate caucus on how to respond to an investigation that still has no definitive end in sight.

While some want to legislate formal protection for Mueller, others insist he is in no danger of being fired by the president. Although Trump has made no motions to shut down the Mueller probe, in October he refused to categorically rule out that option. As The Hill explains, McConnell told Flake on Thursday that Flake is wasting time with the initiative when there is more pressing legislation to pass before the current session ends and the GOP loses its majority status in the House — but not the Senate.

The New Recount Just Took Place In Broward County – It’s Not Looking Good For Democrats

The hand recount for the U.S. Senate seat in the contentious and controversial Broward County, Fla. is reportedly complete. The initial reports are not looking good for Democrats in the deep blue county in Florida, which is crucial for the Democrats hoping to make up the 13,000 vote margin between Republican Rick Scott and Democratic incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson.

The critical Florida U.S. Senate seat and governorship were both initially won by Republicans, and triggered an automatic recount due to the margins of victory. After the initial machine recount, Republican gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis leads Democratic opponent Andrew Gillum by more than 33,000 votes. DeSantis is now set to serve as the state’s governor. For the U.S. Senate seat, Scott leads Nelson by 12,603 votes after the recount — that race went to a manual recount. According to a report on the ground from Mother Jones, the proposition of Nelson making up any margin is “unlikely.”

As the hand recount in Florida’s contentious Senate election got underway in Broward County, it quickly became clear that Democrats were headed for a bad day. This is the county where incumbent Democrat Bill Nelson needed to net thousands of new votes on Friday. But minutes into the recount, that became unlikely.

Ultimately, the reporter said, “Nelson didn’t come close to making up the ground he needs.” The Florida recount for the U.S. Senate seat as a whole is currently ongoing and will conclude on Saturday afternoon. It has featured multiple irregularities.

Stacey Abrams Admits Defeat Against Brian Kemp in Georgia Gov. Race

Democrat Georgia gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams admitted Friday that she cannot win against Republican opponent Brian Kemp. Abrams told supporters that the conservative Secretary of State pinned “his hopes for election on the suppression of the people’s democratic right to vote.” “Concession means to acknowledge an act is right, true or proper…I cannot concede that,” she added.
