but there were sightings on Labor Day weekend that remain a bit of a mystery.
Videographers and photographers captured the long black vessel cruising north and south between Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood beaches.
The U.S. Navy doesn't discuss local submarine activity or acknowledge specific vessel locations, but nautical charts show a restricted area about four miles east of Port Everglades.
