happens all the time apparently because we have a NAVY that runs up and down the coast

 

It's not unusual to see submarines off the coast of Broward County

 

but there were sightings on Labor Day weekend that remain a bit of a mystery.

 

Videographers and photographers captured the long black vessel cruising north and south between Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood beaches.

 

The U.S. Navy doesn't discuss local submarine activity or acknowledge specific vessel locations, but nautical charts show a restricted area about four miles east of Port Everglades.

 

The offshore maneuvers sometimes involve mine countermeasure training using buoys, as well as the testing of unmanned underwater vehicles.
