Death is an illusion because the body is an illusion. The crucifixion of Jesus did not establish the Atonement; the resurrection did. Jesus rose from the dead to demonstrate there is no death because the body is a projection of the mind. It represents the idea of separation. We cannot separate from God therefore the body is not real.
