well my perspective on this.. I dont think the main idea of the law of one is to serve others in the sense that you lose your own sovereignty in doing so and regardless of what others' agendas are. That is called enslavement and it is not what the book is purporting. The main idea of the book is to allow people to discover and recognize the oneness of all beings that you interact with and thus develop love not only for yourself but also for others too, as others are just another aspect of yourself. We are all connected. The idea of "harvest" exists objectively regardless of what you believe in, as it is a part of a natrual evolutionary path for all beings go through. Though it could mean different things in the movie u referring to.
