One thing that is really not clear in all this pushing and pushing for AI is what the tangible benefits are to humanity. What is the big payoff? We are constantly told it will "take over" in all these ways, and given certain vague, modest benefits to expect from that– but nothing that justifies all the investment. WHAT is the real payoff for humanity from all this AI?
I think this should be a question we push.
