The “Five eyes” (including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States) is an agreement to spy on eachother’s citizens to circumvent laws disallowing a country to spy on it’s people and to openly share data.

When the new series of US political drama House Of Cards was screened earlier this month, it received an unusually lacklustre reception.

But the real drama lies elsewhere. For despite being one of Hollywood’s most recognisable stars, Spacey has apparently disappeared off-screen as well as on it.

Nothing has been seen or heard of the double Oscar-winning actor since the first allegations emerged over a year ago in October 2017.

On both sides of the Atlantic, where Spacey owns multi-million-pound homes, the question is being asked with growing urgency: where is Kevin Spacey? ‘He’s become a total recluse,’ one friend told The Mail on Sunday.

‘No one has heard from him. He’s vanished. It’s almost unbelievable that someone of his stature can pull it off in a world where everyone has a cell phone.’

One producer described Spacey as having ‘one of the most recognisable faces on the planet’ and added: ‘I was with him when he walked into a restaurant in Beverly Hills and the whole place applauded.’

It may be a long time before he garners applause again.

His downfall began on October 29, 2017, when Star Trek actor Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of sexually assaulting him in the star’s New York apartment in 1986 when Rapp was just 14, triggering a string of similar complaints.

Catholic Church Poised to Correct 'Flaws' in Historic Lord's Prayer

The Pope earlier stated that the translation that is currently in use does not fully correspond to the ancient Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic original text, as the Lord cannot by definition lead humans “into temptation.”

The Italian Episcopal conference (Cei) is poised to make changes to the text of the most famous Christian prayer, the Lord’s Prayer, or “Pater Noster.” The work on the project, “from a theological, pastoral and stylistic viewpoint,” has spanned a staggering 16 years, and now, having been finalised, it has been submitted for approval to the Vatican, according to the Italian newswire service Ansa.

The line which is due to be changed is “lead us not into temptation”: it will be changed to “abandon us not when in temptation.”

Catholic authorities, including the Pope, agree that the prayer has to be edited: about a year ago, in a televised interview, Francis stated that the currently used version of the sacramental lines is virtually not a “good translation” of the original, since God does not lead one to sin.

“A father does not (lead us into temptation), a father helps you to get up immediately,” the pontiff said at the time.

“The Bishops intend for the publication of the new edition to be an opportunity to help renew the ecclesiastic community. Liturgical reforms are just a starting point. The renewal shall include ordained ministers, as well as the believers. Developments like these are becoming increasingly crucial in the process of Christian initiation, in workshops and in proposals for the permanent training of the clergy,” a representative from the Episcopal Conference was cited by The Italian Insider as saying.

In a separate move, some changes will be made to one of the first lines of the prayer “Glory to God in the highest” (Gloria), namely the phrase “peace on Earth to men of good will” will be replaced with “peace on Earth to men beloved of the Lord.”

Who Or What Is Really Responsible For The Huge Forest Fires In California?

Once again, faced with the failure of the “press” to educate us on an issue, we decided to go out and research the truth about what appears to be the significant increase in huge forest fires. Once we did the research, we found out major differences in facts from the random barkings in the MSM.

Let us start with this simple aspect. Forest fires are a normal thing. Often caused by lightning or other natural causes, they are God’s way of clearing forests. In those natural forest clearances, the wildlife that exists in them are threatened or their habitat is destroyed. What has changed is mankind’s intervention in the natural process. The question is, what other factors may be causing the change in the intensity of recent forest fires?

We also came armed with a thought. If you believe that global warming is making life more challenging for forest management, then you should support proper forest clearance. Otherwise we will be left with even more intense fires.

For this column, other than reading everything available, we went to two sources: our national Forest Service and the Union of Concerned Scientists to get different perspectives.

Speaking with Chris French, the Acting Deputy Chief of Forest Service (FS), we received a primer on what is really going on with forest fires today.

When asked what he believes is the primary cause of the intense forest fires, Mr. French’s immediate response was “Forests are overstocked. There are more trees than 100 years ago.” He went on to say that part of the problem was the Forest Service’s good work in the recent past stopping forest fires. This meant, however, that their focus was largely directed away from forest maintenance, which caused the elements that fuel a fire like underbrush, dead trees or more density to occur.

The changes French would like to see would be more active forest clearance and clearance of the underbrush. He also wants to do more controlled fires when the risks are minimized. If you are wondering why they are not doing that now it is because of budget restraints.

What government department does not advocate for additional money in their budget? In this case, there may truly be rationale. Because of the good work the FS was doing, they were spending 85% of the budget on forest maintenance and 15% on fire suppression.

Over the recent years as forest fires became more intense, they spent more money on suppression and less on clearance causing a vicious cycle of less money on clearance. At this point French stated that it was projected that 60% of their budget went toward suppression leaving fewer precious dollars for clearance. Recent Congressional budget bills have increased the Forest Service budget providing additional funding for clearance, thus hopefully stopping as many fires from happening and less money spent on suppression.

While doing the clearance the Forest Service does, French stated they were controlled by a myriad of federal laws which limit their actions. These laws include The Clean Air Act, Natural Forest Management Act, Endangered Species Act and National Environmental Policy Act to name a few. The Forest Service must put information out to the public before they do their clearance work. They are not always questioned, but quite often interest groups jump in armed with legal briefs to stop the planned work.

“Each of us has to share their decision-making powers, [harmonize] foreign policy, immigration and development policy as well as [share] an increasing part of the budget and even tax revenues in the spirit of community,” he told the German parliament.

On the California fires, Brown said, “Well, how they started is now the subject of investigation. The consultation occurs because the brush, the vegetation is so dry, and the humidity is so low. And when you have that and then the heat and years of drought, that gets it going. In paradise, there were a lot of buildings that also caught fire, and it just went from one to the other. So it’s a mixture of many things, and the president talked about how our forests are managed. That’s an element. But there is also the way the houses were built, the materials, what kind of vegetation is around, and then there’s also the changing climate and the increasing drought and the lowered humidity and water vapor. All of that is combining to create the tragic situation that we saw today in both northern California and here in southern California.”

He continued, “Where paradise is, of course, is surrounded by federally managed land. These are national forests. They’re not state parks, and they’re not private property by Californians. So it is the federal government. And the fact is that managing the forest is part of it. They are a lot denser than they were 200 years ago, but on top of that, we have a five-year drought. We have reduced rainfall. We have the vegetation and bushes and houses and trees that turn into timber, so it’s ready to explode. So there is an atmospheric element, which is part of the natural cycle, and then there is an increasing

He added, “The only way to assure the long-term forest health is not just, you know, cutting trees, it’s going to require reducing carbon emissions and eventually, sooner rather than later to zero. If we don’t do that, you’re going to see these fires not only continuing but getting worse by the year as they are. The last five years, the fires have never been this bad. This fire in Malibu is the worst we’ve ever seen. This fire in Paradise in Northern California is the worst in the history of California. So, yeah, you can mold the science, but I’ll tell you, every year it’s going to get clearer and clearer so that I think in less than five years even the worst skeptics are going to be believers.”

Senior Trump administration official, man in charge of getting drug prices lowered for Americans, SUICIDED

The Nov. 1 death of Daniel Best, a pharmaceutical executive from Bay Village who led U.S. Department of Health and Human Services efforts to lower prescription drug prices, has been ruled a suicide, officials in Washington, D.C., said Thursday.

Police say Best was found “unresponsive” near the garage door exit of an apartment building in Washington, D.C.’s Navy Yard neighborhood at 5:25 a.m. on Nov. 1, and was pronounced dead by medical personnel who responded to the scene.

The city’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on Thursday said Best died from “multiple blunt force injuries” and it ruled his death a suicide. It would not release further information.

In announcing his death, HHS Secretary Alex Azar said the 49-year-old former CVSHealth and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals executive agreed to work at HHS “out of a desire to serve the American people by making health care more affordable.”

“He brought his deep expertise and passion to this task with great humility and collegiality,” Azar’s statement said. “All of us who served with Dan at HHS and in the administration mourn his passing and extend our thoughts and prayers to his wife Lisa and the entire Best family at this difficult time.”

More Evidence Soy Formula Leads To Health Problems As An Adult

New research suggests that infant girls fed soy formula are more likely to develop severe menstrual pain as young adults. The finding adds to the growing body of literature that suggests exposure to soy formula during early life may have detrimental effects on the reproductive system.

Soy has become a major source of toxicity for human beings. Phytoestrogens in soy-based formulas are known to carry greater risks than benefits for infants. Babies fed soy-based formula had 13,000 to 22,000 times more isoflavones in their blood than babies fed milk-based formula.

True cancer of the prostate, carcinoma, is seldom seen in infants and children, but other forms of malignant tumors may develop and more cases are appearing in developed nations where the link appears to center around soy infant formula.

Soy isoflavones detrimentally affect gene expression of a hormone influencing insulin-resistence and body fat levels.

Scientists at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), part of the National Institutes of Health, along with collaborators from Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, and the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, examined data from 1,553 African-American women, aged 23-35, participating in the NIEHS Study of Environment, Lifestyle, and Fibroids (SELF).

The study appears online in the journal Human Reproduction.

The researchers found that women who had ever been fed soy formula as babies were 50 percent more likely to have experienced moderate or severe menstrual discomfort between the ages of 18 and 22, and 40 percent more likely to have used hormonal contraception to help alleviate menstrual pain.

NIEHS postdoctoral researcher and lead author Kristen Upson, Ph.D., offered a potential explanation for the association between soy formula and severe menstrual pain. She said that data from previous laboratory animal studies suggest that early-life exposure to genistein, a naturally occurring component in soy formula, interferes with the development of the reproductive system, including factors involved in menstrual pain. She said these studies have also shown that developmental changes can continue into adulthood.

White House Will Release "Very Full Report" On Khashoggi Findings On Tuesday

In a wide-ranging Fox News interview released on Sunday, President Trump said he hadn't listened to the Khashoggi tape, one day after he praised the US's relationship with Saudi Arabia in response to reports that the CIA had identified Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman as the mastermind of the plot to kill Jamal Khashoggi. And as speculation about the administration's ability to hold the Saudis accountable intensified, Trump said the administration will release a "very full report" on the killing on Tuesday, according to BBG.

Trump again denied that the CIA had made a final conclusion as to who is responsible for Khashoggi's killing, instead insisting that the US "hadn't assessed anything yet." In response to the Friday report in the Washington Post, Trump said that information was premature. "It’s too early. That was a very premature report."

On Saturday, Trump spoke with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and CIA chief Gina Haspel while aboard Air Force One as he traveled to California to meet with people affected by deadly wildfires, according to White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Asked by reporters if the president had confidence in the CIA’s conclusion, Sanders said: "He has confidence in CIA."

"As of this moment, we were told that he did not play a role, we’re going to have to find out what they say," Trump told reporters on Saturday before leaving the White House.

While Trump has defended the US's relationship with Saudi Arabia, others in the administration haven't been so enthusiastic. On Saturday, Vice President Mike Pence referred to Khashoggi's killing as "an atrocity" and vowed that the kingdom and anybody involved in the killings would be held responsible.
