Field McConnell talked with the parents of Navy Chief Special Warfare Operator (SEAL) Aaron C. Vaughn who stated they were informed of 3 RPGs and their sons' body had turned to "soup".

Field informed them his theory that the first RPG aimed low, the second took out 14' of tail rotor which would have brought it down, but the third aimed high was a signal to trigger the on-board explosions.
