Blah blah puff piece to make the social credit system seem not as bad as it is.

It's already happening, monitors and facial recognition already limiting train and bus travel for 'undesirables'. The 'patchwork of diverse information' is a method of ensuring control, make no mistake.

This Anon lived in China for 18 months, and the need for the average chinese to seek approval and collective group think is staggering.

Not as far as I'm aware. Although I gotta say, you have never seen a display of nationalism like a Chinese public school outdoor assembly area.

Exercises in formation, to marching music played over loudspeakers. I kid you not. Marching from class, echo responses from the student body. It's not creepy or anything to see, just you get the feeling of extreme patriotism.

Guarantee you they don't have anyone sitting down refusing to participate. They have the group-think mastered from an early age.
