No freedom of choice in vaccination, top EU health official insists

There is no freedom of choice when it comes to vaccination because it involves putting other people’s health at risk, a top EU health official has warned, adding that ongoing debate in Italy about inoculations is verging “on the absurd”.

As a debate continues to rage in Italy about freedom of choice in vaccination, Martin Seychell, the European Commission’s deputy director-general for health and food safety said last week that it “is verging on the absurd, false debate”.

“Because the issue is, if I make a decision for whatever reason to refuse vaccination, I am somehow giving myself the right to transmit a disease,” he said.

Speaking at the “Active Citizens in Europe advocate for vaccination” event in the European Parliament on 7 November, Seychell noted that the decision not to vaccinate is not a “right”, particularly with vulnerable people “who cannot be vaccinated for whatever reason or who are immuno-compromised”.

China ‘has taken the gloves off’ in its thefts of US technology secrets

It was the great microchip heist – a stunning Chinese-backed effort that pilfered as much as US$8.75 billion in patented American technology.

US officials say the theft took a year to pull off and involved commercial spies, a Chinese-backed company, a Taiwanese chip maker and employees affiliated with Micron Technology, a US-based microchip behemoth.

Yet what Micron called “one of the boldest schemes of commercial espionage in recent times” is most notable because it is not unusual.

Beijing over the last two years has significantly ramped up its swiping of commercial technology and intellectual property, from jet engines to genetically modified rice, as US relations with China have grown more acrimonious under US President Donald Trump, according to US officials and security experts.

“They want technology by hook or by crook. They want it now. The spy game has always been a gentleman’s game, but China has taken the gloves off,” said John Bennett, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s San Francisco office, which battles economic spies targeting Silicon Valley.

Hungary wants to know how many migrants arriving in Europe were “paid” by the UN

Hungary’s Fidesz-led alliance expects the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to respond in connection with the issue of “migrant cards”, the ruling parties’ group spokesman told press conference on Sunday.

Istvan Hollik said Hungary wanted “a straight answer”concerning how many migrants arriving in Europe were“paid” by the United Nations, how many types of cards were in circulation and funded by the UNHCR, how much money the organisation had paid out via the cards as well as how much money each migrant received.

He noted these questions have already been addressed to the European Commission president and the European Parliament’s LIBE committee without any response so far.

11-year-old girl gang raped in Sweden – Perpetrators walk free and laugh in her face

Swedish independent journalist Joakim Lamotte has talked to a mother whose 11-year-old daughter was raped by two men.

The girl was forced to both anal and oral sex. The young men were arrested, but released shortly after. Several times the daughter has met the boys when she walks to school. They laughed in her face.

The mother has just been informed that the investigation has been closed, and that her daughter will not be redressed.

Her daughter’s life has been destroyed, she says, and the only resort they see is to move to another town. She is strongly critical of how the police have handled the case.

Sweden: Reduced migration is illegal – Court opens for even more generous family migration

Restrictions on family reunification in the temporary asylum law violate the European Convention on Human Rights.

This has been established by the Migration Supreme Court in a new verdict, which, according to the Swedish Migration Agency, may affect “many cases”.

The temporary law, which restricts the possibility of a residence permit in Sweden and which was added in connection with the asylum wave 2015, has, among other things, entailed tougher rules for family reunification.

But a new verdict from the Migration Supreme Court now allows relief for family reunification. The case is about three Syrian citizens who according to the verdict have a right to be reunited with a fourth family member – a child who came to Sweden with other relatives in 2015, and was temporarily granted a residence permit under the temporary law.

This implies relief in cases of family reunification that will probably affect many cases, says the Migration Agency’s Legal Director, Fredrik Beijer, on the ruling in a statement.

According to two German news sources, police have ‘covered up’ a Syrian asylum seeker’s rape of a disabled woman. At least one of them is a reliable source and known for quality journalism.

According to Philosophia Perennis and reliable news outlet Junge Freiheit a Syrian asylum seeker repeatedly raped a woman after being attacked in a hallway.

The incident that happened in the town of Chemnitz, was classified by the police as ‘not press-free’, after both German news sites asked for more information.

After combined researched both media sources allege that a Syrian asylum seeker raped a severely, visually impaired woman.

Andrzej Rydzik, the deputy spokesman of the police department of Chemnitz confirmed investigations into the alleged rape to Junge Freiheit.

France sick of Macron? Approval rating drops to 25% after massive protests

There’s seems to be no end to beleaguered French President Emmanuel Macron’s downfall. While the French leader loves to criticise the leaders of the US and Hungary, his own situation becomes more critical by the day.

A day after the massive protests against Macron’s announced increase in fuel tax a poll was published in the Journal du Dimanche.

The Sunday poll found that four per cent of French respondents said they are “very satisfied” with Macron’s work, and 21 per cent are “mostly satisfied.” According to the poll, thirty-four percent were “mostly dissatisfied” while 39 percent were “very dissatisfied”.

Yesterday massive protests against the French government took place. The so called “yellow vests”, opposing an increase in taxes blocked hundreds of roads. In the protests, that attracted around one million people, more than 200 were injured and one person died.

Poland and Hungary are both aware of the importance of fighting for independence – PM Viktor Orban

Hungary’s Viktor Orban pens greeting to Polish Mateusz Morawiecki to honour Poland’s centennial of national independence, according to IAR on Thursday.

According to Orban’s spokesman, Orban was quoted in his letter that the centenary of independence was an important milestone for the Polish nation, which boasts a history going back a millennium.

He also said that Poland and his own country of Hungary were both aware of the importance of fighting for independence, according to Hungary Today.

He added that, while Poles and Hungarians now live in free and independent countries, “the storms of history are still heavily beating around” and their independence “is subject to heavy attacks”.

Both Poland and Hungary have come under attack from the European Union, being accused and criticised. They are close allies, however, and both refuse to adopt EU migration quotas, which is the reason for their being attacked.

New Zealand police seize 190kg of cocaine hidden among bananas in country’s largest ever drug bust

New Zealand police and customs officials have seized 190kg (419lbs) of cocaine with a street value of up to NZ$36 million (US$25 million) that was hidden in a shipment of bananas following the country’s largest ever drug bust.

A 41-year-old man was arrested in neighbouring Australia in connection with the seizure, New Zealand authorities said in a statement.

The haul followed an Australian investigation into an organised crime group. Officials there said a potential shipment of illicit drugs was heading to Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city, after leaving Balboa, Panama, on August 4.

French ex-minister Georges Tron and deputy cleared of ‘threesome rape’ of employees during foot massages

A French court on Thursday acquitted former government minister Georges Tron of raping two employees as he conducted foot-massaging sessions on them in his office.

Tron, who served as junior minister for the civil service, was forced to resign in 2011 over the allegations made by two women who worked for him at the town hall of the southern Paris suburb of Draveil.

The women accused Tron, who is mayor of Draveil, and his former deputy, Brigitte Gruel, of abusing them during foot reflexology sessions in Tron’s office between 2007 and 2010 that turned into threesomes.

Landmark Greek cross vandalised again: Painted black and F*ck written on it

New vandalism took place on the cross near the area Apelli on the island of Lesbos, earlier this month. A group of unknown people painted it black, and wrote the word “F*ck” on it.

As we reported, the cross was temporarily reinstalled after unknown people crashed it to the ground. The Greek government forbade an initiative of locals to build an even larger cross at the same spot.

This monument has become a special target for the NGO members as well as the Muslims that live in the local refugee camps.

Even the interior minister of Italy, Matteo Salvini, supported the locals of the Greek island, while their own government refuses to protect Christian monuments from vandals.

It is worth noting, that in Greece the vandalism of monuments is a felony. It seems that in Greece law and justice is required only for Greek citizens, while migrants and NGO members are free to break the law without consequences.

Eugenics anyone? Human rights groups call on Canadian government to end coerced sterilization of indigenous women

Human rights groups are calling on Canada to end the coerced sterilization of indigenous women, as a growing number of victims seek to join a class action lawsuit against government and medical professionals.

At least 60 women have joined a pending class action lawsuit against doctors and health officials in the province of Saskatchewan, seeking compensation for the violation of their rights.

The lawsuit has yet to be certified by a judge, but this week Amnesty International announced it will lobby the UN committee against torture to increase pressure on the Canadian government to act.

"Ultimately, this is about women who are supposed to have the right to make decisions about their bodies, having that right taken away from them," said Amnesty's Jacqueline Hansen.

The women allege their fallopian tubes were tied, burned or cut in public hospitals when the women were unable to give sufficient consent - which would be a breach of both medical ethics and the law.

Hitler’s Third Reich stands out because Germany was brought to a public trial for their atrocities. The world brought Moral judgement against those responsible. And that is the Crux of the matter.

The word “Moral.” The allies thought they were righteous enough to judge on moral grounds. And judge they did. Most of the so called perpetrators were executed and others given lengthy prison terms.

In 1946 the chief prosecutor of the Nuremberg trials, Robert H Jackson, made the following statement. “The former high station of these defendants, the notoriety of their acts, and the adaptability of their conduct to provide retaliation make it hard to distinguish the demand for a just and measured retribution, and the unthinking cry for vengeance which arise from the anguish of war. It is our task so far as humanly possible to draw the line between the two. We must never forget that the record on which we judge these defendants today is the record on which history will judge us tomorrow.

Not All Foreign-Influence Scandals Are Created Equal

Two decades ago, the media weren’t obsessed with Chinese interference in a presidential election.

The Chinese fundraising scandal involving DNC finance vice chairman John Huang first came to light in the final weeks of the 1996 presidential campaign. A former Commerce Department official, Huang was a top fundraiser who scooped up suspect foreign cash for Team Clinton.

A 1998 Senate Government Affairs Committee report on the scandal found “strong circumstantial evidence” that a great deal of foreign money had illegally entered the country in an attempt to influence the 1996 election. The DNC was forced to give back more than $2.8 million in illegal or improper donations from foreign nationals.

Founder of US Newspaper With Ties to Beijing Shot to Death at California Office

Xie Yining, the founder and chairman of the U.S.-based Chinese-language newspaper China Press, was shot to death inside the publication’s office in Alhambra, California, according to a report by local newspaper San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

After receiving a call on Nov. 16 from a man who said he had been shot, local police found Xie, 58, at the newspaper office, where he was pronounced dead. Police recovered a handgun at the scene and arrested an employee identified as Zhong Qi Chen, 56, on suspicion of murder.

Zhong is currently held on $1 million bail. Police didn’t indicate a motive for the shooting.

The U.S. government's mammoth broadcasting arm has begun the "unleashing of thousands of hours per week of government-funded radio and TV programs for domestic U.S. consumption," John Hudson of Foreign Policy reported on Sunday.

The content arrives with the enactment of the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012, sponsored by Rep. Mac Thornberry (R- Texas) and Rep. Adam Smith (D- Wash.), which was inserted into the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

The reform effectively nullifies the Smith-Mundt Act of 1948, which was amended in 1985 specifically to prohibit U.S. organizations from using information "to influence public opinion in the United States."

The new law enables U.S. government programming such as Voice of America (VoA) — an outlet created in 1942 to promote a positive understanding of the U.S. abroad — t0 broadcast directly to domestic audiences for the first time.

VoA and other programs are now produced by the Broadcasting Board of Governors, which shares a "strategic communications budget" with the State Department and has an annual budget of more than $700 million.
