This really is a brilliant plan, I'm starting to discover.
How do you keep the masses asleep? You get rid of the mass that's "woke". Well, how do you find them? You give them an outlet to congregate in, build their hopes, heighten their "awareness", promise them the world, and build their passion for the cause. Then, when push comes to shove, you pull the carpet out from under them, let that hope you built carry them into violence against those you taught were the enemy, round them up, declare a war on the new "extremists" (anons), and stifle their voices while putting as many as possible back to sleep.
How many times have you been lead down a path which was going to be a BOOM, but turned out to be a dud? "GET THE WORD OUT! SOMETHING BIG IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN!" Then…fizzle. Now you're stuck sitting there looking like the crazy conspiracy theorist, and you've just vaccinated against the red pill everyone you hyped up. The boy who cried wolf? You're God damned right…that boy gets EATEN by the wolf.
