We need paper ballots and honest vote counters! Screw the voting machines! Even optical scanners can be rigged to miscount the paper ballots. So is the rigged software still in the Florida machines?
Programmer testifies how he altered software in Florida voting machines in 2000 to make votes flip. Later runs for US Congress against the Republican who hired his employer to rig the software. Programmer loses election; gets affidavits from voters as to how they voted but the US House Administration Committee refused to review the affidavits and turned down his challenge.

American computer programmer Clinton Eugene Curtis is seen in this video testifying under oath in front of the U.S. House Judiciary Members in Ohio.
He tells the members how he was hired by Congressman Tom Feeney in 2000 to build a prototype software package that would secretly rig an election to sway the result 51 / 49 to a specified side.
He explains that it would be undetectable and only takes 100 lines of code to implement, watch it and then think about where your vote is really going :)

"Mr. Curtis," said the questioner at the U.S. House Judiciary Committee proceedings, "are there programs that can be used to secretly fix elections?"
And so begins the story of Clint Curtis - computer programmer, Floridian, Republican - who was asked by the company he worked for to create a vote-rigging software prototype that he assumed would be used to try and "catch" would-be fraudsters. It was a standard "opposition research" assignment - or so he was told. The truth, of course, was something completely different and weaves into a tangled web the 2000 Presidential Election debacle, a now-sitting U.S. Congressman, and the number one threat to our national security - electronic voting.

Curtis worked for Yang Enterprises who had a contract to write the election software (he left soon after becoming aware of the improper relationship between Yang and GOP US Congressman Tom Feeney).

Looks like Yang Enterprises is still in business and has been awarded a State of Florida IT Consulting Services contract.

YEI is a GSA Advantage member, offering Information Technology solutions(GS-35F-0896N),Professional Services Schedule (GS-10F-0135Y),and Facilities Maintenance and Management Services (GS-21F-090AA). This means that Federal Government and DoD have a contract in place with various suppliers and that a government organization who wants the product only has to place an order with the company (since the supplier has already gone through the GSA contracting process). Much simpler and easier for an organization to go this route rather than try to award a contract themselves.
