1812 OVERTURE
FWIW, anons, I was very happy recently to learn from The Evils of the Federal Reserve that the War of 1812 was indeed an English offensive to prevent us from establishing independence from financial tyranny through the forces of private central banks.
I grew up around DC, and everyone in the 4th grade went to Ft McHenry. You see the original flag that flew over Baltimore Harbor when Key wrote the Star Spangled Banner. It's pretty intense.
Sometime in or after college I "learned" that we (supposedly warhawks in congress) started that war. I was quite devastated. Anyway, just thought I'd share. Not sure what Tchaikovsky had in mind, but considering Russia too struggled to fight of the fuckery of the bankers, going to war and suffering a revolution or two at their hands as well, maybe there was a bit more meaning in the choice.
