I think the Jenny character is a pretty accurate portrayal of how the late 60's affected women.
Thinking of Roy Moore, although maybe that's that's not the best example, when people criticized him for going out with girls who were right out of high school. When he got back from Nam the availables were the unmarried Jennies his age or younger/older girls/women who weren't as affected.
When you look at the men who were prime in that era and wonder why many of them who have younger wives, welp, that's why.
Not talking about the girls from that era who stayed straight and were happily married. They weren't available for the guys coming back stateside, though.
