Gaining knowledge. Always thought it odd Eve being made out the bad guy. If Eve had not eaten the apple, the rest of us would not exist. Fairy tales/myths/legends are full of forbidden rooms, chests, jars, etc. If hero/heroine does not go/look there, no story. Think Joseph Campbell's The Power of Myth. Nothing ever happens in one's safety zone.
