ICU Nursefag here. Can confirm. It's almost blasphemy to question MDs orders, because of course we're just dumb nurses. Sometimes you get yelled at, and sometimes the good ones will listen.
It's hard to work in the healthcare industry and tow the Pharma line all in the guise of "patient advocacy," especially when I know some of these treatments and medications are harmful to people (don't even get me started on the horrors/torture of the ICU). I never advocate for vaccines and try to educate people to look into more natural treatments for anxiety, HTN, cholesterol, etc instead of immediately asking the doctor for a magic fix.
There ARE legit medications that are helpful, but there are also many that have horrible side effects.. just watch the infomercials on TV, spend 10 seconds telling you what the drug is, and 1 minute telling the nasty SE.
