I would suggest pondering if those who voted against knew what the large majority of their fellow members were voting before they cast their vote. Sometimes a long game is played. Remember who voted against the Iraq war, and think about how much votes that got him many years later. Policy passed, justice served are the only way to know true motives and even that is getting murky. Algorithms and game theory at every level. Any non crazy perverted super rich business known democrat + any non crazy female will beat Trump/Pence next go around with high assurance in coordination to a sunken economy and NO arrests of famous swamp creatures. You can not fire the swamp only. It has to get ugly and it hopefully will.
