Market mayhem: Dow down 550 points, tech wrecked, losing over $1tn in value

Stocks continued to crash on Wednesday, led in part by a decline in US technology shares, which had helped to propel Wall Street’s long bull market.

Asian markets fell following a two-day sell-off on Wall Street. The Shanghai Composite Index was down 0.05 percent, while Japan’s Nikkei fell 0.35 percent. Earlier on Tuesday, the Nasdaq closed at its lowest in more than seven months with the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones finished at their weakest levels since late October.

US stocks are already in a bear market, Morgan Stanley warned, explaining that more than 40 percent of the S&P 500 is down 20 percent from recent highs. Wall Street defines a bear market as a fall of 20 percent or more from a stock’s 52-week high.

Remeber the plan end of wallstreet dollar and USA. shift the power to ASIA..

Russia won’t be dragged into new arms race, but will respond to US withdrawal from INF – Putin

Moscow will not leave Washington’s decision to unilaterally withdraw from the landmark nuclear arms treaty unanswered, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, adding that the country doesn’t need to join another arms race.

Russia is still ready to continue dialog with the US on the bilateral treaty banning medium-range missiles, which has become one of the cornerstones of nuclear disarmament, the Russian leader said at a government meeting in Sochi. Still, the US should “treat this issue with full responsibility,” the president said, adding that Washington’s decision to withdraw from the agreement “cannot and will not be left unanswered.”

Brussels rejects Italy budget, paves way for sanctions

The European Union took the first step on Wednesday toward fining Italy after ruling that Rome's spending drive violates the bloc's fiscal rules.

In a report on Italy's debt, the European Commission said that it has rejected the Italian government's budget plan for 2019.

"Our analysis suggests that the debt rule must be considered to have not been respected," the report states. "We conclude that the opening of a procedure for excessive deficit based on the debt is therefore justified".

Brussels has repeatedly voiced concerns over Rome’s borrow-and-spend plans, warning the Italian government that it could trigger another debt crisis that would hurt them all.

Protests, Winnie the Pooh Memes Greet Xi Jinping in Philippines

Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping received a frigid welcome in the Philippines on Tuesday as hundreds of protesters circled the Chinese embassy in Manila and others took to attacking Xi on social media for launching a colonization campaign in Philippine territories of the South China Sea.

Under Xi, the Chinese government has constructed artificial islands in the reefs of the Spratly Island chain, shared by the Philippines and Vietnam, and equipped them with advanced military and surveillance facilities. The Permanent Court of Arbitration at the Hague ruled in 2016 in favor of Philippine sovereignty over the territory and branded China’s actions illegal; China responded by ignoring the ruling.

Since President Rodrigo Duterte took office in the Philippines in 2016, Manila has eased on challenging China in the region. In an opinion piece published in several Philippine outlets on Monday, Xi Jinping declared that the dispute was officially over and China and the Philippines were enjoying the “rainbow after the rain.”

One of the top economists on the Trump team, Stephen Moore, discussed the US economy and the recent decline in US markets on FOX Business. Moore agrees with President Trump that the recent interest rate increases by ‘The FED’ have put the markets in a tailspin. In addition, these increases are costing US taxpayers trillions
