Fren, as a mid 50's person who's experienced every version of Windows AND iPhones 1 through 99, I too am unimpressed and bored.
Just bored with technology.
Microsoft and Apple are both just rearranging the grocery store at this point. Slight changes for the sake of changing something. It all seems pointless.
What we could all really use is a clean, simple GUI on devices mercifully, gloriously devoid of bloatware.
They don't seem capable of producing anything like that.
