What got to me about this episode was how he owned the damn room. He owned Bob Saget repeatedly. He owned everything and everyone. Yet he was so fucking earnest and visibly vulnerable in this clip while he listened to Roseanne talk about getting herself into trouble. He clearly had that exact internal struggle and he hadn't made it big yet so it bothered him even though every person in the room of legends knew damn well he was the fucking man.

He looked like he wanted to cry when Roseanne was talking about how she just couldn't keep her mouth shut and about being successful vs great. And watching it now, knowing he never got the success and credit he truly deserved, is kinda fucking heartbreaking.

That's pretty much the truth. He probably wanted to cry because he knew damn well he was the guy who had to make that choice between success and greatness. And it wasn't a choice. Because he couldn't be anything but great.

How many times does a guy like that have to get completely fucked to not just become Chris Rock? Any hour of him talking shit is probably worth an hbo special.
