other than being notable because he is an elected official…. Peralta was a member of the IDC in the New York State Senate - the Independent Democratic Conference - the IDC worked with the GOP to keep a majority in the Senate
The crazy progressive Dems in NY had enough of the IDC and primaried all of them and beat almost all of them. Peralta is one of the ones that they beat.
Maybe he knew too much and wasn't going to keep quiet after being beat.
