It means it is all geometric fields. Particles are excited transient states of the fields.
Aether is basically the Higgs field. Higgs field also is what allows mass and gravity.
Each particle has mass, charge and strong and weak nuclear forces - so all overlap to give their won flavor to the particle in one way or another. But only some of the quantum probabilities collapse to become particles in 4D. Many many more just remain massless and just probabilities.
