Trump Holds Thanksgiving Teleconference with Military to Express His ‘Profound Gratitude’

President Donald Trump held a Thanksgiving teleconference with members of the military from Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, FL, in which he expressed his “profound gratitude” to members from each branch of military.

The president wished everyone a “Happy Thanksgiving” and thanked them for their service to the country.

“We’re honored to be joined on today’s call by great patriots. You are really great patriots representing each branch of the American armed services,” Trump said on the call. “Melania and I want to express our profound gratitude for the extraordinary sacrifices you make to defend our nation while you’re away from your families and loved ones. I hope that you’ll take solace in knowing all of the American families that you hold so close to your heart — we’re all doing well.”

People shining a light on the dark world of human sex trafficking deserve our thanks

There’s beauty in people who speak uncomfortable truths and they deserve our thanks.

We can be thankful for these change agents; those who take giant risks to expose any deep sickness in our society. This is especially true for the advocates and victims of human sex trafficking.

I have no firsthand experience with this horrible crime. But I’ve spent many hours listening to law enforcement, advocates and victims. There are things I’ve learned from all of them that I’d rather not know.

Many victims of human sex trafficking are girls in their early to late teens. Some are held at gunpoint by their traffickers as they are repeatedly raped by so-called “johns.” They’re threatened with harm to themselves or their families if they try to escape.

At first, they’re likely to receive a cut of the money they bring in. But as the trafficker exerts increasing control, the victim might only receive payment in the form of a small meal, a candy bar, a daily fix of drugs, or a hotel room to stay in for the night.

They’re trapped in slavery.

How does this happen?

Traffickers are in essence professional manipulators. Aside from physical abuse, victims face extreme psychological abuse. Their innocence is lost forever and the resulting trauma can take years to undo, if it is ever really undone.

Every one of these victims was born with a purpose. She is a daughter or a sister; someone with hopes and dreams that go beyond being treated like a human ash tray, over and over.

Once indoctrinated into this world, the average lifespan of a trafficking victim is just seven years.

Traffickers find their victims like any ruthless predator, human or otherwise. They look for a vulnerability or a weakness to exploit, perhaps in a girl who is not accepted by her peers. The crime of sex trafficking cuts across all socio-economic levels, but poverty makes a young person more vulnerable. Desperation brought on by hunger, drug addiction, or the lack of nice things can make them an easy target for traffickers.

Victims are typically female, although there is growing awareness about the trafficking of young men and boys.

Bottom line: There is sadly a huge demand for it. The trafficking industry has turned into one of the most lucrative organized crime rings, generating billions of dollars worldwide.

Efforts are underway to have popular culture “normalize” the crime.

What you won’t hear from US govt: Iran is open to working with Saudi Arabia

Washington’s rhetoric regarding Iran paints the picture of an evil nation hellbent on destroying the world. In reality, it appears that Tehran would prefer dialogue with its rivals, which is unacceptable to the US.

Tuesday’s White House Statement from President Trump on “Standing with Saudi Arabia” was an outright condemnation of Iran and a total free pass for Saudi Arabia.

Iran is to blame for almost every issue in the Middle East, including the war in Yemen, according to the statement. The US-made and supplied bombs raining down on Yemeni school buses, with some 85,000 children dying in the process, is simply because of Iran. Not only is Iran responsible for the bloodshed in Yemen, Tehran has further helped “dictator Bashar Assad” in Syria kill “millions of his own citizens.” The official death toll of the Syrian war is under one million, and certainly the various jihadist groups, including Islamic State (IS), share responsibility for that figure.

“The Iranians” have also killed many Americans and other innocent people throughout the Middle East. Iran not only shouts “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” but it is also considered “the world’s leading sponsor of terror.”

It is curious enough that firstly, in a statement about Saudi Arabia, the term “world’s leading sponsor of terror” is not gifted to the prime sponsors of Al-Qaeda and IS. Secondly, the fact that Trump himself put that term in inverted commas seems to suggest that even he doesn’t quite believe that one to be true.

Remember, Saudi Arabia is the country that Trump, before becoming president, once accused of masterminding the 9/11 attacks. I wasn’t aware of this until reading the statement, but according to the White House, Saudi Arabia would gladly withdraw from Yemen if the Iranians would agree to leave. That’s right, Iran’s non-presence in Yemen must be removed in order for Saudi Arabia to cease blowing up children, hospitals, factories, food trucks, schools, agricultural land, strategic ports, and relinquish its complete stranglehold over the country.

If you were naive enough to take the White House statement at face value, you would surely think that Iran has much to answer for. Iran is, after all, public enemy number one and has been for some time. Conversely, Saudi Arabia has been a longstanding ally of the United States, a faithfully serving client state, and it should be protected at all costs especially if there is to be any hope at pushing back against Iran as it yells “Death to America” and “Death to Israel.”

But what if Iran was, despite all of its flaws, not interested in fighting a war with Saudi Arabia? What if we dug a little bit deeper and asked ourselves: is there another way of dealing with the “threat” that Iran poses?

In January this year, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote an article that was published in the Financial Times which laid out the country’s proposed framework for bringing stability to the Middle East. The article was widely ignored by the rest of the world, even though its implications were potentially life-saving.

“The objective of a strong region — as opposed to a quest for hegemony and the exclusion of other actors — is rooted in recognising the need to respect the interest of all stakeholders,” Zarif wrote. “Any domineering effort by one country is not only inappropriate but essentially impossible: those who insist on following that path create instability. The arms race in our region is an instance of this kind of destructive rivalry: siphoning vital resources into the coffers of arms manufacturers has contributed nothing to achieving peace and security. Militarism has only served to fuel disastrous adventurism.”

Washington looking for anti-monopoly tool to kneecap OPEC oil cartel

The US Department of Justice is reportedly exploring the possibility of introducing antitrust legislation that will allow the White House to reduce the power of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

The measure has been triggered by the oil cartel’s successful attempts to bring global prices for crude under control. OPEC members and their non-OPEC allies, led by Russia, managed to affect global oil prices by establishing production quotas. The step reportedly raised costs for US consumers, an unnamed department official told Bloomberg.

“That’s traditionally the type of conduct the Justice Department would frown upon,” the media quotes the source as saying. The anti-OPEC bills, reportedly backed by both Republicans and Democrats, were introduced in the House and Senate, but neither chamber has voted on the legislation yet.

However, in June, the House Judiciary Committee approved the “No Oil Producing and Exporting Cartels Act.” The legislation, known as NOPEC bill, authorizes the US attorney general to sue the oil cartel over its efforts to put oil output and crude prices under control.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly blamed OPEC for rising oil prices, demanding that participants of the organization should increase crude production.

In late 2016, the member countries along with non-OPEC producers, including Russia, made a multinational pact aimed at curbing total oil output by 1.8 million barrels per day (bpd) in order to support sliding prices. Back then, Russia pledged to cut 300,000 bpd out of 560,000 for total non-OPEC cuts. The agreement came into effect in early 2017, and was later extended until the end of the current year.

The recent collapse in oil prices has forced OPEC and its partners to summon another meeting which is scheduled for December. Participants may discuss further curbing of output for 2019. OPEC’s biggest producer, Saudi Arabia, has already backed potential production cuts. The oil-rich kingdom pledged to trim its shipments by 500,000 bpd starting next month.

Think of it like this. How to catch a wild animal? Set it at ease get close surround it then when it least expects it pounce. Now ask yourself who or more accurately which state is the wild animal? Then ask how would it be set at ease? By having it's own on the inside!

BULLSHIT

He wanted to end the Vietnam war and expose the cabal.

"There is a plot in this country to enslave every man, woman and child. Before I leave this high and noble office, I intend to expose this plot."

“The very word “secrecy” is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings… Our way of life is under attack."

Those who make themselves our enemy are advancing around the globe… no war ever posed a greater threat to our security. If you are awaiting a finding of “clear and present danger,” then I can only say that the danger has never been more clear and its presence has never been more imminent…

For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence–on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations.

Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed.”
